May 3, 2016
I am tired and we had to set our clocks up an hour, so
instead of it being 8:58 ship's time, like it has been the last two days, it is
now 9:58 ship's time, 10:58 Augusta time (and we still have to go back 2 more
hours to be on Los Angeles time). So as
the title says, my part will be S&S.
Very good show tonight -- the ship's second company of
singers and dancers -- was "What the World Needs Now," a selection of
Bert Bacharach music. Very good. The company that was performing when we first
got on, are getting off in Los Angeles,
their contract being up. A second group
of performers got on in Cartagena,
and their contract will run, probably 6 months.
So we get a good variety in that department. The female vocalist/trumpet player and the
comedian will share the stage tomorrow night.
And tomorrow I have my last food talk, "Yes, We Have No
Bananas." The Cabaret Lounge will
be full tomorrow morning. There is an
enrichment lecture by the aviation expert on Charles Lindbergh at 9 a.m. He is followed by "Reflections Panama
Experience Screening" at 9:45 that is a thinly disguised commercial to
entice us to buy a $50 DVD in which we will appear for 12.37 seconds. I'm next at 10:15, followed by Bingo at
11:15. Tomorrow it's the Snowball
Jackpot Bingo ($900 may go in a 51 number coverall, but probably not). Six bingo cards (for 4 games, 3 plus the
coverall) are $30 and we may play. If we
win, we'll share.
I will now turn the keyboard over to my beloved wife,
friend, companion, lover, and cruise buddy.
What do you mean, "Who is that?"
Well, my day started slowly. We went to breakfast and I had
some cheese, a piece of toast and some baked beans accompanied by an orange
juice. I went outside to walk and it was raining, so no walk. I went back in
got a hot chocolate and proceeded to deck 4 Atrium to crochet and wait for
crafts. We are making a pineapple bag. It is a small tote bag with a pineapple appliquéd
on it. We used a blind a basting stitch to create a pineapple out of rectangular
shaped piece of material then blind stitched it onto the bag. It took me an
hour. The lady sitting across from me finished it in 10 minutes. Sewing is not
my forte. We were supposed to finish it tomorrow but according to the Princess
Patter we are making a mask for the "Day of the Dead Festival", the
day before Cinco di Mayo. I guess we
will finish the bag the next day.
I got to the last 15 minutes of David's talk. After which we
went upstairs for lunch. It had stopped raining and even though it was hot and
muggy I went up and walked my mile. After walking I came back to the room and
waited for David to finish his nap, then I took a short one.
It was formal night so we had to dress up tonight. Dinner
was there. After dinner we had to wait
to go to the show because they were having their special captain's party for
the crown rewards people on board. We couldn't get in early to get seat. So I
waited in line till 7:45 when they would let us in. We decided to sit on the
front row. It was nice but I think I like where we usually sit better. Show was
good. They sang a lot of old love songs. Well, we have turned our clocks
forward and tomorrow will be here an hour sooner.
Hey, Mac you are now
7. How does it feel. Loved your pictures. Be a good boy and walk a lot.
Missed you all. Love you.
