BLOG, THE TENTH

November 20, 2018

Tonight’s show – music from the movies – was lackluster.  Eight singers sat on stage and only 4 of them had solos.  Two of them didn’t even hum a note.  What’s with that?

And the PG comedian was lacklustier than lackluster.  I don’t know what it is about comedians that they feel like they have to pick on members of the audience rather than develop a well-crafted routine.  No one may like him now, but Bill Cosby was funny.  Everyone still likes him, and Bob Newhart was funny.  George Carlin could turn the air blue, but he was funny.  They developed routines.  They told stories.  They were funny!

And that is my bellyache for tonight.  But as one of my readers says, “Hey!  You are on a cruise!  How bad can it be?”

I will do my last talk for this cruise, Social Media, tomorrow.  And then we start packing.  While I do the 10 o’clock talk Bonnie will go to the disembarkation talk to learn what to do and where we get our luggage tags.  We’ll pack up either after my 3 o’clock talk or after supper, because there is no variety show tomorrow night.

Except for crabbing about the comedians, this has been a good cruise.  Good stops.  Good weather.  Good food.  Lots of regulars – groupies as one blog reader calls them – at my talks.

Because of packing – and the blog computer gets packed in a suitcase – this will be the last of my ramblings for this cruise.  More ramblings from 233.  And email is still working, so keep those cards and letters coming in.

My cruise companion has declared her willingness to write something for you tonight.  So hereeeee’s Bonnie.

TTFN

Well, I haven’t written at all for the last three cruises I just haven’t felt the urge. As my bed buddy said this has been a good cruise. The weather has been phenomenal, not to hot. The islands have been very nice. The sunset cruise we took was very good and the bus tour of Amber Cove was good. Never been there so we got to see a little of the area. It is definitely a very poor place, though there were lots of high end resorts.

We have had lots of lazy days. Some crazy things have happened with his talks, they are not very well advertised, if at all, so attendance hasn’t been great but the people who have come have been very complimentary. The food has been okay and our servers for supper are super nice. We have sat at table 120 in Wind Star every night. Mohamed is our head table waiter.
When we got to San Juan I mailed you all post cards, but they are not from San Juan they are from Hawaii!! I never could get them mailed when we were there, so I sent them from this cruise. At least you get mail.

I have been busy working on 2 crochet projects but Haven’t finished either. Oh well, there is next month. I started making a list today of all the things I have to do when we get home. I have 10 days!! I also started making a list of what I need to buy for Christmas dinner. I keep thinking of things that I need to do, so I finally got out my notebook so I could write them down. I know I would never remember them all.

Yesterday I walked almost eight miles, today just 3 miles. Most every day I have made at least 10,000 steps. Yeah, more melting chocolate cake for dessert. I have been trying to have the sugar free desserts for supper, but tomorrow night it is melting chocolate cake.

This group of singers and dancers are not as good as some we have seen before but we have enjoyed most of the shows. We haven’t done any bingo and only 2 trivias I think. They usually conflict with his talks. The dance couple that is on are nice but have spent almost the whole cruise in their cabin with the snoozing sign on the door. They have said they aren’t feeling well. They give one dance lesson on sea days. One or the other of them has come to some of David’s talks.  We have tried one dance lesson, not very successfully, and are going to go and try again tomorrow.

Well, I guess I am pretty much done rambling. Miss you all and looking forward to Saturday. Hope you all come. There will be noodles, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, broccoli, corn and chocolate pie and pumpkin pie for all. I even bought pretty Thanksgiving napkins! I also, have a craft projects for the kids, we are going to make a turkey!

Well, I love you all. And a very Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Love, Mom, Granny and Bonnie
